SMS usage growing even in a down economy

Here’s another nice little tidbit that’s worth keeping in mind for anyone currently building the next killer web application: the SMS text messaging market is predicted to nearly double by 2013 to over $224 billion.
In a new report by Portio Research titled ‘Mobile Messaging Futures 2009 – 2013’:
Traffic volumes and revenues continue to confound predictions and are expected to keep growing throughout the global economic downturn. Indeed the whole mobile messaging industry worth USD 130 billion in 2008 is predicted to be worth USD 224 billion by 2013, 60 percent of non-voice service revenues.
Amazing. Also interesting: Filipinos lead worldwide SMS usage with a whopping 755 messages per month average.

May I inquire as to the source of this claim? Thanks.
