CircleofMoms.com is not what you think it is

Login Manager I’ve been fascinated by the number of “specialized” social networking sites.  I’d written earlier about the eventual and inevitable consolidation of social networking sites into two main pieces (personal and professional), but nonetheless there are still some pretty solid specialized social networking sites out there that get decent amounts of traffic for what they are.

CircleOfMoms.com is a case in point: it’s simply a site for moms to exchange information and share stories.  It’s really just an online user community, similar to iVillage before it, and even harkening back to the days of dial-up bulletin board systems. (Remember modems?  Yeah, that was the day.  I used to be able to tell what speed and error correction negotiation occurred just by listening to the handshake.  Scary.)

  1. Hi. Do you happen to know what social network software/program CircleOfMoms.com used to create their site? Or, can you suggest any that would do the same thing with little to no cost?
