MySpace tries to keep up with Facebook and Google

Yesterday both CNET and TechCrunch covered news about MySpace trying to keep up with Google Friend Connect and Facebook Connect news by re-branding their data portability project.
As with Google Friend Connect, MySpace has adopted open standards: OpenSocial, OpenID, and OAuth. As I’ve written earlier, though, the standards are great for data geeks (like me) but may not matter much for consumers.
More details can be found at CNET and TechCrunch, respectively. Looking over the developer site for MySpace looks like a graveyard, though. The blog is hardly updated, and the site doesn’t make much mention about the branding changes.
